Lianne La Havas Website

Lianne La Havas is a 23 year old English folk soul singer songwriter and  multi-instrumentalist. She became an active singer in the industry in 2011 and is currently climbing her way up to fame; being a supporting act to Jessie Ware and performing at Glastonbury.
One reason to why I am analysing this particular website is due to the fact that I think it is very unconventional to the stereotypical musicians website. I find this website to be more like a blog, which I feel makes the fan feel closer to the artist.

THE HOMEPAGE
This is the website homepage, very clear and a very wide layout. As a user it was easily assessable and the function was simple. The homepage showed all the latest new, tour dates added and updates to the artists location. These are updated regularly to keep the fans aware of any new information. Along the side panels of the website it show the 'album out now', 'latest tweets' and 'store'. These are pieces of information that the user can constantly see when looking at any page. At the bottom of the page there is a bar in which the user can choose to play the artists latest track and any other track. There is also a link onto Lianne's SoundCloud on this bar, which the fans can also comment and like.

MUSIC
The music page is simply the artists SounCloud; showing her album cover and a track list. The user is also able to click on the SoundCloud and it opens a new web tab to her SoundCloud page.

VIDEOS
I like the fact that the video is large, clear and easy to function. The latest music video being the first and largest on the screen; accompanied by a playlist of all of Lianne La Havas previous music videos. when watching the user is able to click on the YouTube symbol at any time to automatically connect to her YouTube Vevo page.

TOUR DATES
The tour dates again are simply placed showing the date and year in the box and the location and city next to it.  There is a 'buy ticket' and 'info' button with each date making it easy for fans to buy. The button automatically connects to a ticketmaster webpage. The dates without the 'buy tickets' button are sold out.

ALBUMS
The albums page is title with 'Is Your Love Big Enough' the title of Lianne's latest album. The page shows all the different forms of the DigiPak, limited edition and Vinyl. It also shows all the different places which they can be purchased such as Amazon and iTunes.

PHOTOS
There are different categories to which yo can see the images, which have been grouped to make it easier for the user. The official photos are those that have been taken for promotions and events. Summer festivals are the artists personal photos at festivals, press clippings are those images shown in magazines and UK tour are photos taken by the artist, members of the band and professional photographs. When opening these categories the photos appear to be in the same format as those to the videos.

STORE
This page shows all the different items that can be brought such as posters, albums and vinyls. The page shows the image of each item, a brief description, the price and an add to basket button alongside the quantity drop down button.

The other page links were to the artists blog, Twitter, Facebook and YouTube. These are social networking sites which automatically connect to the individual sites.

As a fan of this artist I felt that the website was clear and consistent with its layout and font. Although initially the pages seemed to be plain once having looked at the content the fans do feel closer to the artist. This is as she has put a lot of her own images and personal blogs on the website. I think that the connection made from the artist to the fans is very subtle. I find this to be an appealing quality to this website, which has not been done with many others.
